EMMA And ME: An Unusual Biography

When Frances goes on holiday to recuperate from stress, she finds herself curiously drawn into a world that she believes to be that of Lady Hamilton. Frances puts it down to her exhaustion when she begins to have dreams so real that soon she begins to question what is reality and what is not. She finds herself living the life of a girl growing up in poverty in a collier village in the past, a life that seems a world away from what little she knows of Lady Hamilton. Yet after living a life that seemed to last months, and then years, she awakes barely able to remember who she really is. When reality returns to Frances she is convinced that she knows it was Lady Hamilton she saw in her dream.

This latest story from Rochelle Jones is about Frances Taylor, who is taken to a hotel in the country for much needed rest. But instead of relaxing on holiday, Frances finds her dreams are being curiously affected, in them she finds that she is living a life that is as real as her waking life. Is it really just her exhaustion that is causing her to dream the life of a girl growing up in a collier village in Flintshire? Why are reality and dream blurring together. What is the strange presence Frances can sense in her room, a room that is called The Lady Hamilton Room? Is it linked to the portrait of Lady Hamilton which hangs so prominently in pride of place in the room? Whatever it is, Frances becomes increasingly alarmed as the dreams start to become her reality.

Read the new book by Rochelle Jones and find out the meaning of these so realistic dreams. So real that Frances becomes convinced that she is being drawn into the life of Lady Hamilton as the dream reality sees her move first to London and then on to Italy. As the dreams continue through her holiday will the dreams really reveal that it is the life led by Lady Hamilton? If so, how accurate will they turn out to be to the life actually lead by Lady Hamilton, or more importantly for Frances, why is she experiencing them and can she hold onto her own identity? A brand new book from the author of Heaven and Helen and Eternal Flame, - The Antrobus Pages presents her latest book, which is now available from Amazon, a story that centres around Enid, whose life is affected by her encounter with a man she finds herself irresistibly drawn to. It is an attraction that leads to life changing events and tragedy,

Rochelle Jones says this story was adapted from a much earlier manuscript that she wrote in the 1970s but had become lost for many years. On rediscovering it years later, she decided there were many parts in the earlier script that she would not use. Now the new version little resembles the original story. At the time of writing the story last year she was thankful to have something to become occupied with because of a health scare. When she sat down to write, all else vanished from her mind, and focused only on writing the story. "It was easy to lose myself in the Victorian world, I have always felt at home there and twice before used this period in my novels"

The rewritten version of Love in Dark Places may have been changed a lot from the original version that was completed all those years ago, but essentially the same characters are used, however some have become more prominent in the story, such as Susan, who before had a much more minor role, and other characters have changed, the character Seth has become much nastier. "Contrary to my original intentions, he developed into a very sinister man indeed," Says Rochelle.

Love in Dark Places is now available in hardback over the internet, her best book yet, a must for all fans of historical fiction and tales of twists of fate and life's dramas. Consideration over the next NewOldBook is underway

The books being considered will be much bigger projects, - than previous re-prints from The Antrobus Pages as the books being conseidered are multiple volumes and also each volume is much larger than any of the previous NewOldBooks printed because each volume is around five hundred pages. The old out of print books are still relevant today for the interest of their content. Old and New London is a six volume set of books about London. Written in the late nineteenth century, this a very detailed description of London as it was in its then present day, the 1880s, and also its history. Hence these books present a very detailed picture of 1880s London, with descriptions of the people and their lives at that time. Much of this London is now vanished and these books provide a fascinating view of how London was. The history of each part of London is also given in a lot of detail providing a full story of the cities origins and life.

London was not the only city or town that had a comprehensive "old and new" history written in the nineteenth century, places as diverse as Edinburgh, Birmingham and Bristol also had detailed studies and publications of their people and history compiled and published, giving some of the earliest and most accurate city analysis and histories ever written.

The Lives of the Lindsays is another very interesting history and biography made up of three volumes. First published in the 1840s this series charting the history of the name of Lindsay and its varies family branches was heralded as the new standard of genealogy and family research when t was published in the 1840s. Taking research of archives, contempory and historical documents and family archives to a new level in an effort to really understand the truth of the family origins and history. Even today it remains one of the most comprehensive family histories ever written.

Heaven and Helen now Available in Paperback

Antrobus and Tea

Teaman to His Majesty. How did an Antrobus become the supplier of tea to the Royal household? For decades there was a well-known tea house on Fleet Street, In years past tea was seen as a medicinal product, all kinds of cures for ailments were attributed to tea. Through the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the demand for tea grew at an extraordinary rate. The drinking of tea became popular over time to all people, both wealthy and poor, becoming a natonal drink of the people.

In remembrance

This month marks the one hundredth year since World War One started

It is the one hundredth anniversary since the beginning of the First World War. The number of people with the Antrobus name who gave their lives serving their country during the Great War is surprisingly high for a name that is not very common. Searching the internet, the names of up to one hundred men from Antrobus families all over Britain served during the war. The great majority were from Cheshire, and as the list below shows most served in the nearby regional regiments. The Cheshire regiment, South Lancashire Regiment or the North Staffordshire regiment seem to be the most common. The names listed below are those Antrobus' from Britain who paid the ultimate price serving their country - however it is almost certainly not a definitive list of all those called Antrobus who were killed in the Great War, there will have been others from all over the commonwealth also serving king and country.
